Wilpattu National Park is Sri Lanka’s largest and oldest wildlife sanctuary, covering over 1,300 square kilometers. It is famous for its unique landscape, featuring natural lakes (called “villus”) that attract a wide variety of wildlife. The park is home to leopards, elephants, sloth bears, deer, crocodiles, and many bird species, making it a great place for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.

Unlike other national parks, Wilpattu offers a more tranquil safari experience due to its vast size and fewer crowds.
